When Dr. Schmid contacted Bark! Multimedia to discuss a new website, we did extensive research to really understand the online needs of a premiere aesthetic surgeon. In response to our findings, we developed an architecture that gave his patients a wealth of knowledge and information.
We started with a custom-built module for medical procedures, where Dr. Schmid’s patients can learn about the intricacies of each procedure, so they can make informed medical choices. The procedure data is backed by a database and can be searched for easier access.
Dr. Schmid also wanted to include a medical glossary, and FAQ, and even a before and after gallery for patients. Another requirement was to present Dr. Schmid’s publications. A prolific author, Dr. Schmid required both a blog and a special knowledge-base module where he could post his publications and papers, both optimized for SEO.
Another requirement was module that would allow Dr. Schmid to post specials on the site. We took it a step further and added a widget that randomly pulls current specials and displays them on selected pages. When a customer clicks on a special, they are presented with a printable coupon. To help Dr. Schmid’s understand usage patterns, we also wired the coupon system up with Google Analytics.
Dr. Schmid is also a well-respected bronze sculptor who offers workshops and classes for fellow surgeons. We created a workshop module that enables him to post his classes on the site and keeps track of registrants and seats remaining. It also sends out auto-generated email reminders and allows participants to add comments. Finally, Dr. Schmid required a website that is highly optimized for great organic Google rankings. We exhaustively optimized the site and the website now achieves great search position, with number one rankings on several key words.
